Happy Fourth of July! Check back for a much more patriotic post once I'm done with the JLPT tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
I joined up with a group of Yale alumni who were meeting with alumni of the University of Tokyo, Waseda U., and other colleges around the capital. Many interesting people and events, but the flashiest was probably a visit to Tsukiji Fish Market, the largest fish market in the world. N.B.: I do not condone the dangerous overfishing of tuna that Japan and other countries engage in, but it's a pretty amazing production.
Interesting place.
ReplyDeleteThe overfishing of tuna all over the world is tragic. I hope a real tuna-farming (as opposed to catching young wild tuna and sequestering them in net corrals for feeding) method is developed soon, so I can go back to enjoying this delicious fish.
Keep on with the adventures!
