Pastry

Sorry for the continued frivolous posts--I've been running on little sleep this week and most of my time has been devoted to following the debate.

Also, my dear next-door neighbors swung by the other day with a bag of goodies (I know, I'm worth it) which included an Anpanman--the meta-confectionery effigy of a bean bun superhero.

I'm not making this up--there is a very popular cartoon here in Japan that features a jam bean pastry called Anpanman (アンパンマン) with a whole complement of merchandise. "His weakness is water or anything that makes his head dirty," according to Wikipedia. Anyway, in a mind-twisting development, tart imitates life as real-life Anpanmen have made their way to bakeries.
