Ramadan

ラマダンおめでとう！

It's about half-way through the month of Ramadan, so I thought I'd slip a shout-out in to all my Muslim pplz and those who love them. Happy Ramadan! The kids over here learn about Ramadan in school, but this is definitely their first real-life interaction with it . . . grassroots internationalization, check. I'll add this to my Repertoire of the American Experience, along with my cowboy hat and Abbey Road LP.

Also, Happy Respect-for-the-Aged Day! (We have a three-day weekend because of it.)

Voilà que le mois de Ramadan est à peu près à mi-chemin, alors je saisis l'occasion pour souhaiter ma famille partout, ainsi que mes amis, qu'ils soient musulmans ou non, ! رمضان مبارك L'islam apparaît dans les cours histoire-géo ici, mais je crois que je suis le seul lien concret que mes étudiants ont jamais eu avec l'islam.
